Today I Answer my Calling

I’ve been a writer since I was a kid — long before I ever called myself one.

I used to write little stories and staple the edges of the papers together to make “books.” I didn’t know anything about publishing or audience or structure. I just knew I needed to get what was inside me onto the page. That was it. That was the whole point.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped writing like that.

I ended up in corporate communications — writing for a living, getting paid to put words together, being “good” at it. I was published a few times. On paper I was a writer.

But I never believed I was a real writer.

Because even though the work looked impressive, it didn’t feel like my real voice. It was writing from the mind. Writing to perform. Writing to be correct, not true.

I didn’t lose my calling — I just wrote around it.

And now, today -- I claim it.

Because now I finally know what I’m meant to write.

Not the polished version of myself.

Not the safe or strategic version.

Not the “professional voice” I used for years.

But the voice that has always been there underneath:

the Soul voice.

The one that knows God.

The one that remembers truth.

The one that doesn’t care about being somebody — only about being real.

Sacred Sunday is where I write from that place.

Not to teach.

Not to perform.

Not to prove anything.

Just to finally say what has been living inside me since childhood — what has been waiting for expression while I was learning how to survive, succeed, and do everything I had to do.

There is a sense of urgency, and there isn’t.

I don’t feel pressured by time.

I feel pulled by destiny.

This isn’t something I chose because it’s convenient.

It’s because my Soul refuses to let me leave with my light still inside of me.

So here I am.

If you're here, thank you for witnessing this beginning with me. This is God's will, whatever you deem God to be.

My ego trembles - and still, I choose faith over fear.

If what I write here helps someone feel less alone or more connected to God or more in touch with their own Soul — beautiful.

And if all it does is give me a place to honour my Source and share His love -- then my Soul will rest, knowing it is fulfilling its purpose.

Love,

Elle
